The Powersavers campaign was a 2008 advertising campaign urging New Zealanders to save power. The campaign was called due to risk of power outages from low water levels in the South Island hydro lakes.

The upper South Island led the charge just before the final week of the campaign saving 5.9% power. Following close behind with a savings of 5.6% was the lower North Island. Savings for the lower South Island, upper North Island and the central North Island respectively was 5.5%, 3.7% and 4.0%.

Five of New Zealand's electricity suppliers ran the campaign. The suppliers were Trustpower, Mercury Energy, Genesis, Transpower, Meridian and Contact.
